RYLA 2025: Jóvenes Innovando para un Futuro Mejor
Del 11 al 14 de febrero, 37 jóvenes líderes de entre 17 y 25 años participaron en el Seminario Rotario de Liderazgo Juvenil (RYLA), un espacio diseñado para inspirarlos a convertirse en agentes de cambio en sus comunidades. Este año, el enfoque fue la Innovación Social, destacando cómo el liderazgo juvenil puede transformar el entorno a través de soluciones sostenibles y acciones concretas.
Durante estos días, los participantes asistieron a diversas conferencias y talleres sobre innovación social, sostenibilidad y conservación del medio ambiente. Uno de los momentos más significativos fue la visita al Parque Natural Metropolitano, donde, guiados por especialistas, exploraron este importante pulmón verde de la ciudad de Panamá. Esta experiencia no solo les permitió conectar con la naturaleza, sino también reflexionar sobre el impacto de sus acciones en el planeta.
El punto de encuentro fue el Centro de Retiro Monte Alverna en la ciudad de Panamá, un centro de la Iglesia Católica con la comodidad y los espacios adecuados. Además, aparte de la parte de formación, los participantes recibieron clases de yoga, tai chi, salsa, musicoterapia y bailes panameños, enriqueciendo aún más su experiencia en el evento.
El éxito de este RYLA no habría sido posible sin el liderazgo de Odilia Delgada, presidenta del comité organizador, quien, junto a Johana Tejeira, Directora Administrativa, y Aleyda Espinosa, Presidente Distrital de Interact y Rotaract, lograron coordinar un evento enriquecedor y lleno de aprendizajes. Agradecemos profundamente a los facilitadores, voluntarios y a todos quienes hicieron posible este encuentro.
Se contó con jóvenes de los cuatro países y lo que buscamos es hacer de este un evento de formación de líderes y agentes de cambio en sus comunidades, que se puedan incorporar como Interact, Rotaract, Rotarios y puedan participar de los programas de Intercambio Juvenil, Nuevas Generaciones y Becarios Pro Paz. Los Rotarios debemos y tenemos que apostar a las nuevas generaciones, como el futuro de Rotary.
Cada uno de estos jóvenes regresa a casa con nuevas ideas, herramientas y la convicción de que el cambio comienza con ellos. Como Rotarios, nos corresponde seguir impulsando espacios donde la juventud pueda desarrollar su liderazgo y aportar soluciones innovadoras a los desafíos de sus comunidades.
Sigamos promoviendo el liderazgo joven, porque en sus manos está el futuro de un mundo más sostenible y equitativo.

Letter of Sunday RYLA 2025: Youth Innovating for a Better Future
From February 11 to 14, 37 young leaders between the ages of 17 and 25 participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Seminar (RYLA), a space designed to inspire them to become agents of change in their communities. This year, the focus was Social Innovation, highlighting how youth leadership can transform the environment through sustainable solutions and concrete actions.
During these days, the participants attended various conferences and workshops on social innovation, sustainability and environmental conservation. One of the most significant moments was the visit to the Metropolitan Natural Park, where, guided by specialists, they explored this important green lung of the city of Panama. This experience not only allowed them to connect with nature, but also to reflect on the impact of their actions on the planet.
The meeting point was the Monte Alverna Retreat Center in the city of Panama, a center of the Catholic Church with the comfort and appropriate spaces. In addition, apart from the training part, participants received yoga, tai chi, salsa, music therapy and Panamanian dance classes, further enriching their experience at the event.
The success of this RYLA would not have been possible without the leadership of Odilia Delgado, president of the organizing committee, who, together with Johana Tejeira, Administrative Director, and Aleyda Espinosa, District President of Interact and Rotaract, managed to coordinate an enriching event full of learning. We deeply thank the facilitators, volunteers and all those who made this meeting possible.
We had young people from the four countries and what we seek is to make this an event for the formation of leaders and agents of change in their communities, who can be incorporated as Interact, Rotaract, Rotarians and can participate in the Youth Exchange, New Generations and Pro Peace Scholars programs. Rotarians must and have to bet on the new generations, as the future of Rotary.
Each of these young people returns home with new ideas, tools and the conviction that change begins with them. As Rotarians, it is up to us to continue promoting spaces where youth can develop their leadership and contribute innovative solutions to the challenges of their communities. Let us continue to promote young leadership, because in their hands is the future of a more sustainable and equitable world.
