Carta de Domingo: Reflexiones sobre la Reunión del Copres Distrital: Unidos por un Rotary Más Fuerte
Queridos amigos Rotarios,
Este domingo quiero compartir con ustedes la enriquecedora experiencia que tuvimos en la reciente Reunión del Copres Distrital. Este evento fue un poderoso recordatorio de que, más allá de las fronteras de nuestros cuatro países, somos un solo distrito, unidos por la amistad, el servicio y el compromiso con Rotary.
La reunión de Copres brindó un espacio para que todos los presidentes de clubes compartieran sus proyectos, aprendizajes y mejores prácticas. Fue emocionante escuchar las historias impactantes que están transformando comunidades, al tiempo que conocíamos el estado de nuestra membresía, las donaciones a la Fundación Rotaria y los compromisos con el distrito. Este tipo de encuentros son esenciales para fortalecer la colaboración y el entendimiento mutuo, recordándonos que juntos podemos lograr mucho más.
Uno de los temas centrales fue la importancia de aumentar y retener nuestra membresía. Esto incluye enfocarnos en el involucramiento activo de los nuevos socios, asegurando que permanezcan con nosotros más de 1,000 días. La mentoría y el acompañamiento son herramientas clave para lograrlo. Además, se destacó la necesidad de promover la formación de clubes satélites, así como el crecimiento de los clubes Interact y Rotaract, que representan el futuro de nuestra organización.
Otro aspecto relevante fue el compromiso con las nuevas generaciones. Eventos como el Día Rotary de Servicio y el Programa de Mentores para Rotaract no solo fomentan el liderazgo, sino que también inspiran a los jóvenes a seguir construyendo un mundo mejor. Invertir en nuestras nuevas generaciones garantiza la sostenibilidad del movimiento Rotario.
En cuanto al impacto y la sostenibilidad, se destacó la importancia de promover las donaciones a la Fundación Rotaria, permitiéndonos llevar a cabo proyectos de mayor alcance. También se fomentaron las alianzas estratégicas entre clubes y organizaciones externas, maximizando el impacto de nuestras iniciativas.
Durante el evento, se reconoció el entusiasmo y la dedicación de los clubes en sus diversas actividades. Proyectos como Rotary Pinta, La Aventura de Leer, los Concursos de la Prueba Cuádruple y La Pandilla del Bosque son ejemplos de lo que podemos lograr cuando trabajamos juntos. Asimismo, recordamos que aún hay tiempo para participar en el Concurso de Poesía, una maravillosa iniciativa que promueve la creatividad y los valores de Rotary.
También los animo a no perderse próximos eventos como RYLA, que transforma la vida de los jóvenes participantes, y la Conferencia Bi Distrital, una gran oportunidad para compartir, aprender y celebrar nuestra pasión por el servicio.
Finalmente, quiero extender una invitación especial a los clubes para participar en la campaña El Sol Nunca se Oculta en Rotary, que celebraremos el próximo 23 de febrero. Adicionalmente, los motivo a que sus clubes se conviertan en 100% ILR, promoviendo que todos sus miembros completen los seminarios de ILR y fortalezcan su conocimiento sobre Rotary.
Esta reunión del Copres Distrital fue una experiencia que demostró que, trabajando juntos, podemos superar cualquier desafío y alcanzar nuevas metas. Los invito a seguir fortaleciendo estos lazos de amistad y servicio, porque unidos somos más fuertes, y juntos construimos un Rotary más grande y con mayor impacto.

Reflections on the Copres District Meeting: United for a Stronger Rotary
Dear Rotarian friends,
This Sunday, I want to share with you the enriching experience we had at the recent Copres District Meeting. This event was a powerful reminder that, beyond the borders of our four countries, we are one district, united by friendship, service, and commitment to Rotary.
The Copres meeting provided a space for all club presidents to share their projects, learnings, and best practices. It was exciting to hear the impactful stories that are transforming communities while also learning about the status of our membership, donations to the Rotary Foundation, and commitments to the district. These kinds of gatherings are essential to strengthen collaboration and mutual understanding, reminding us that together, we can achieve much more.
One of the central topics was the importance of increasing and retaining our membership. This includes focusing on the active engagement of new members, ensuring they stay with us for more than 1,000 days. Mentorship and guidance are key tools to achieve this. Additionally, the need to promote the formation of satellite clubs, as well as the growth of Interact and Rotaract clubs, which represent the future of our organization, was highlighted.
Another relevant aspect was the commitment to new generations. Events such as the Rotary Day of Service and the Rotaract Mentorship Program not only foster leadership but also inspire young people to continue building a better world. Investing in our new generations ensures the sustainability of the Rotary movement.
Regarding impact and sustainability, the importance of promoting donations to the Rotary Foundation was emphasized, enabling us to carry out projects of greater reach. Strategic alliances between clubs and external organizations were also encouraged, maximizing the impact of our initiatives.
During the event, the enthusiasm and dedication of the clubs in their various activities were recognized. Projects such as Rotary Paints, The Adventure of Reading, the Four-Way Test Contests, and The Forest Gang are examples of what we can achieve when we work together. Likewise, we reminded everyone that there is still time to participate in the Poetry Contest, a wonderful initiative that promotes creativity and Rotary values.
I also encourage you not to miss upcoming events such as RYLA, which transforms the lives of young participants, and the Bi-District Conference, a great opportunity to share, learn, and celebrate our passion for service.
Finally, I want to extend a special invitation to clubs to participate in the campaign The Sun Never Sets on Rotary, which we will celebrate next February 23rd. Additionally, I encourage your clubs to become 100% ILR, promoting that all your members complete the ILR seminars and strengthen their knowledge of Rotary.
This Copres District Meeting was an experience that demonstrated that, by working together, we can overcome any challenge and achieve new goals. I invite you to continue strengthening these bonds of friendship and service because united, we are stronger, and together, we build a bigger and more impactful Rotary.
