Carta de Domingo: Fortaleciendo la Magia de Rotary: Un Recorrido por el Servicio y el Impacto en los Clubes de Panamá Parte 2
Estimados amigos Rotarios,
Espero que este mensaje les encuentre bien y con el espíritu de servicio que nos caracteriza. Esta semana ha sido particularmente enriquecedora, llena de visitas y experiencias que reflejan el poder de Rotary en nuestras comunidades.
Me gustaría compartir con ustedes un resumen de mis recientes visitas como Gobernador de Distrito a varios clubes en Panamá, donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano el gran trabajo que están realizando.
Club Panamá Norte: Este pequeño club ha desarrollado grandes proyectos como el de las Aulas Interactivas, y otros proyectos enfocados en la educación.
Club del Pacífico: Este club, resultado de la unión de Panamá Sur y Panamá Oeste, desarrolla grandes proyectos como «Panamá La Bella» y el Concurso de Ortografía. Actualmente están trabajando en un Global Grant.
Club Panamá Nordeste: Su proyecto de reforestación en el Parque Nacional Camino de Cruces ya está dando resultados en la erradicación de la Paja canalera. También tienen un Global Grant para la región de Darién.
Club Rotario de Panamá: Realizamos una gira para conocer sus proyectos en dos escuelas de Panamá Oeste, en Burunga, con alianzas importantes con clubes de USA, la Embajada de Japón y la Fundación Holzer. Estas alianzas están transformando centros educativos, instalando cocinas modernas, bibliotecas y baños. Además, implementan un programa a tres años de «El Líder en Mí», que ya muestra resultados.
Club Panamá Este: Han concretado su primer club Interact y están trabajando en otros proyectos comunitarios.
Club de Casco Antiguo: Siguen trabajando con grandes proyectos en agenda y con un enfoque en la continuidad.
Club Cristóbal Colón (Costa Atlántica): Nos recibieron en el Centro de Interpretación del Castillo de San Lorenzo del Chagres, que está en construcción y será una gran oportunidad para conocer la historia del sector. El club preside el Patronato de este sitio y del histórico Portobelo. Los invito a participar en su actividad del 7 de septiembre, para apoyar la causa de restauración de su casa Rotaria.
Club El Dorado: La visita finalizó con la toma de posesión del Club Interact de Oxford School. Estos jóvenes nos sorprendieron con su capacidad para presentar proyectos de impacto. Luego, el club nos presentó sus proyectos para el año Rotario.
Las visitas han sido una muestra del compromiso de los rotarios en Panamá. Entre los compromisos que han adquirido, destaca la exploración del crecimiento con clubes satélites, nuevos clubes Interact, la reactivación de Rotaract y la creación de nuevos clubes. Queremos fortalecer la gran familia Rotaria y dar a conocer el gran trabajo que hacemos a nivel nacional.
Unidos en servicio, amistad y paz, continuemos trabajando para hacer de Rotary una fuerza para el bien en el mundo.

Sunday Letter: Strengthening the Magic of Rotary: A Journey Through Service and Impact in Panama’s Clubs Part 2
Dear Rotary friends,
I hope this message finds you well and with the spirit of service that defines us. This week has been particularly enriching, full of visits and experiences that reflect the power of Rotary in our communities.
I would like to share with you a summary of my recent visits as District Governor to several clubs in Panama, where I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the great work they are doing.
Panama Norte Club: This small club has developed major projects like Interactive Classrooms and other initiatives focused on education.
Del Pacífico Club: This club, the union of Panama Sur and Panama Oeste, develops significant projects such as «Panama La Bella» and the Spelling Bee Contest. They are currently working on a Global Grant.
Panama Northeast Club: Their reforestation project in the Camino de Cruces National Park is already showing results in eradicating canal grass. They also have a Global Grant for the Darién region.
Rotary Club of Panama: We conducted a tour to visit their projects at two schools in Panama Oeste, in Burunga, with key alliances with clubs in the USA, the Japanese Embassy, and the Holzer Foundation. These partnerships are transforming educational centers, equipping them with state-of-the-art kitchens, libraries, and bathrooms. Additionally, they are implementing a three-year «The Leader in Me» program, which is already showing positive outcomes.
Panama Este Club: They have successfully established their first Interact Club and are working on other community projects.
Casco Antiguo Club: They continue working with major projects and have a focus on continuity.
Cristóbal Colón Club (Atlantic Coast): We were warmly received at the Interpretation Center of the San Lorenzo Castle, which is under construction and will offer a unique opportunity to learn about the area’s history. The club chairs the board of trustees for both this and the historic site of Portobelo. I invite you to participate in their event on September 7th to support the cause of restoring their Rotary House.
El Dorado Club: Our final visit was to the induction ceremony of the Oxford School Interact Club. These young leaders impressed us with their ability to present impactful projects. The club later presented its projects for the Rotary year.
These visits have been a testament to the commitment of Rotarians in Panama. Among the commitments made by the clubs are the exploration of growth through satellite clubs, new Interact Clubs, reactivating Rotaract, and creating new clubs. We aim to strengthen the Rotary family and bring public awareness to the great work Rotarians are doing nationwide.
