Carta de Domingo: Fortaleciendo la Magia de Rotary: Un Recorrido por el Servicio y el Impacto en los Clubes de Panamá
Estimados amigos Rotarios,
Espero que este mensaje les encuentre bien y con el espíritu de servicio que nos caracteriza. Esta semana ha sido particularmente enriquecedora, llena de visitas y experiencias que reflejan el poder de Rotary en nuestras comunidades. Me gustaría compartir con ustedes un resumen de mis recientes visitas como Gobernador de Distrito a varios clubes en Panamá, donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano el gran trabajo que están realizando.
Club Rotario de Aguadulce:
La visita a Aguadulce fue realmente inspiradora. Comenzamos con una participación en la radio local, donde pudimos compartir el mensaje de Rotary con la comunidad. Luego, hicimos entrega de insumos médicos al Centro de Salud de Ola y de una silla de ruedas al Colegio Rodolfo Chiari, junto con otros insumos necesarios. También conocimos el Centro de Promoción del Ministerio de Salud, donde el club tiene planes de desarrollar un importante proyecto en beneficio de la comunidad. Uno de los puntos más destacados fue el proyecto en la comunidad pesquera de El Salado, donde se ha conjugado el esfuerzo conjunto de la comunidad, el gobierno y el club. No podemos dejar de mencionar la activa participación de los jóvenes de Interact y Rotaract, quienes demuestran con su entusiasmo que el futuro de Rotary está en buenas manos.
Club Rotario de Penonomé:
En Penonomé, tuvimos una enriquecedora participación en la radio y productivas reuniones de trabajo donde conocimos los proyectos que el club tiene en mente, como la implementación de sistemas de agua para diversas comunidades y un renovado programa de Padrinos, diseñado para apoyar de manera sostenible a niños con discapacidad y enfermedades. Destaco también el trabajo realizado con el Club Interact, que cuenta con 35 jóvenes comprometidos, y la estrecha colaboración con el Club Rotaract, lo cual fortalece el espíritu de la Familia Rotaria en la región.
Club Rotario de Chitré:
Nuestra visita a Chitré fue igualmente gratificante. Comenzamos en la radio y luego nos dirigimos al Centro Rotario, donde Casa Esperanza ha encontrado un espacio para apoyar a los niños de la comunidad. Otro proyecto que me impresionó fue el Centro Care, liderado por el Club Rotaract con la integración de los Clubes Rotarios e Interact, en la comunidad pesquera del Agallito. También fuimos testigos del avance del proyecto de Parada de Buses y de «Rotary Pinta», donde se han embellecido varios parques locales.
Club Rotario de Santiago:
En Santiago, visitamos dos escuelas donde ya se están utilizando las aulas interactivas, un proyecto distrital que ha sido recientemente aprobado y en el que participan 11 clubes de Panamá. Además, nos reunimos con el misionero Roberto González para discutir un proyecto de reforestación en la comarca Ngobe Bugle, una región con un enorme potencial para el desarrollo de proyectos. El Club Rotaract de Santiago también se hizo presente, demostrando su compromiso con la comunidad y su colaboración activa con sus padrinos para la realización de proyectos.
Club Rotario de Playa Coronado:
Playa Coronado está avanzando con su proyecto RACHEL, llevando tecnología educativa a más escuelas. Ya el Ministerio de Educación les ha solicitado expandir el alcance de este sistema a más instituciones educativas. Además, están trabajando en conjunto con el Alcalde de Chame para desarrollar proyectos comunitarios, mientras que los Rotaract del club siguen colaborando estrechamente en estas iniciativas.
Club Rotario de La Chorrera:
Nuestra visita en La Chorrera comenzó con una parada en el Parque Rotario en el centro de la ciudad, seguida de una visita al Hospital Regional Nicolás A. Solano, donde hicimos una donación de sillas de ruedas y visitamos el Banco de Sangre, donde el club ha hecho un gran aporte con sillas portátiles de donación y otros equipos necesarios. La jornada concluyó con una reunión en la Ciudad del Niño, que es la sede del club, un espacio emblemático para la comunidad.
Próximas Visitas a Clubes de Panamá Ciudad:
A partir de mañana, continuaremos nuestras visitas en los clubes de la ciudad de Panamá, donde compartiremos con cada uno de ellos sus proyectos y llevaremos el mensaje de la Presidente Internacional Stephanie Urchik y su lema «La Magia de Rotary». En cada paso que damos, estamos comprobando que todos nuestros clubes son, sin duda, clubes irresistibles.
Queridos amigos, sigamos adelante con este espíritu de servicio y colaboración, convencidos de que juntos podemos lograr grandes cosas. Les agradezco por su arduo trabajo y compromiso con nuestra misión rotaria.Con aprecio rotario,

Sunday Letter: Strengthening the Magic of Rotary: A Journey Through Service and Impact in Panama’s Clubs
Dear Rotary friends,
I hope this message finds you well and in the spirit of service that defines us. This week has been particularly enriching, filled with visits and experiences that reflect the power of Rotary in our communities. I would like to share with you a summary of my recent visits as District Governor to several clubs in Panama, where I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the great work they are doing.
Rotary Club of Aguadulce:
The visit to Aguadulce was truly inspiring. We began with a participation on the local radio, where we shared Rotary’s message with the community. We then delivered medical supplies to the Ola Health Center and a wheelchair to the Rodolfo Chiari School, along with other necessary supplies. We also visited the Ministry of Health’s Promotion Center, where the club plans to develop an important project for the community. One of the highlights was the project in the fishing community of El Salado, where the joint efforts of the community, government, and the club have come together. We cannot forget to mention the active participation of the Interact and Rotaract members, who show with their enthusiasm that the future of Rotary is in good hands.
Rotary Club of Penonomé:
In Penonomé, we had a fruitful radio appearance and productive work meetings where we learned about the projects the club has in mind, such as implementing water systems for various communities and a renewed Godparent Program designed to sustainably support children with disabilities and illnesses. I also want to highlight the work done with the Interact Club, which has 35 committed young members, and the close collaboration with the Rotaract Club, which strengthens the spirit of the Rotary Family in the region.
Rotary Club of Chitré:
Our visit to Chitré was equally rewarding. We started at the radio station and then visited the Rotary Center, where Casa Esperanza has found a space to support the community’s children. Another impressive project was the Care Center, led by the Rotaract Club with the integration of the Rotary and Interact Clubs, in the fishing community of Agallito. We also witnessed the progress of the Bus Stop project and the «Rotary Paints» initiative, where several local parks have been beautified.
Rotary Club of Santiago:
In Santiago, we visited two schools where interactive classrooms are already being used, a district project recently approved with the participation of 11 clubs in Panama. Additionally, we met with missionary Roberto González to discuss a reforestation project in the Ngobe Bugle comarca, a region with great potential for project development. The Rotaract Club of Santiago also attended, demonstrating their commitment to the community and actively collaborating with their mentors to carry out projects.
Rotary Club of Playa Coronado:
Playa Coronado is advancing with its RACHEL project, bringing educational technology to more schools. The Ministry of Education has already requested them to expand this system to more educational institutions. Additionally, they are working in conjunction with the Mayor of Chame to develop community projects, while the Rotaract members continue to work hand in hand on these initiatives.
Rotary Club of La Chorrera:
Our visit to La Chorrera began with a stop at the Rotary Park in the city center, followed by a visit to the Nicolás A. Solano Regional Hospital, where we donated wheelchairs and visited the Blood Bank, where the club made a significant contribution with portable donation chairs and other necessary equipment. The day concluded with a meeting at Ciudad del Niño, which is the club’s headquarters, a symbolic space for the community.
Upcoming Visits to Panama City Clubs:
Starting tomorrow, we will continue our visits to the clubs in Panama City, where we will share their projects and bring the message of International President Stephanie Urchik and her theme «The Magic of Rotary.» With each step we take, we are proving that all our clubs are, without a doubt, irresistible.
