APP: Asistir, Participar y Pagar
Queridos amigos rotarios:
Hace algunos años, en una de esas charlas que marcan huella en nuestra vida rotaria, el PGD Tito Mancia compartió con nosotros un principio sencillo pero poderoso: APP – Asistir, Participar y Pagar. Una fórmula breve, fácil de recordar, pero que encierra la esencia de lo que significa ser socio de un Club Rotario comprometido.
Hoy, quiero invitarles a reflexionar sobre estas tres palabras que, más que deberes, son caminos hacia el verdadero valor de pertenecer a Rotary.
Asistir
Asistir no es solamente ocupar un asiento en las reuniones, es estar presente. Es escuchar, aprender, compartir y fortalecer los lazos que nos unen como club. Cada reunión es una oportunidad de crecimiento personal y colectivo. Cuando faltamos, no solo nos perdemos la experiencia, también privamos al club de nuestra energía y talento. La asistencia es el latido del corazón rotario.
Participar
Rotary no es un club de espectadores, es un movimiento de acción. Participar es involucrarse en proyectos, levantar la mano cuando se necesita apoyo, ofrecer nuestras habilidades para hacer que las cosas sucedan. En cada actividad, por pequeña que parezca, sembramos semillas de cambio. La verdadera satisfacción rotaria nace cuando participamos activamente y vemos los frutos de nuestro servicio en las sonrisas de la comunidad.
Pagar
Nuestra membresía también implica un compromiso financiero. Pagar no es una carga, es una inversión. Es el sustento que permite al club planificar proyectos, capacitar líderes, sostener programas y mantener viva nuestra organización. Cuando cumplimos con nuestras obligaciones, fortalecemos la confianza en la sostenibilidad del club y aseguramos que Rotary pueda seguir siendo una fuerza de bien en el mundo.
Queridos socios, el APP no es una lista de obligaciones, es un recordatorio de que nuestra membresía requiere presencia, acción y compromiso. Ser rotario no es un título honorífico: es una manera de vivir con propósito.
Les invito a que, en este mes y siempre, renovemos juntos nuestra promesa de Asistir con entusiasmo, Participar con entrega y Pagar con responsabilidad. Que cada uno de nosotros sea ejemplo, porque cuando cumplimos con el APP, nuestro club se fortalece y nuestra comunidad recibe lo mejor de nosotros.
Sigamos siendo rotarios de corazón, de acción y de compromiso.

Dear Rotary friends,
Some years ago, in one of those talks that leave a lasting mark in our Rotary lives, PDG Tito Mancia shared with us a simple yet powerful principle: APP – Attend, Participate, and Pay. A short formula, easy to remember, but one that holds the very essence of what it means to be a committed member of a Rotary Club.
Today, I want to invite you to reflect on these three words that, more than duties, are paths to the true value of belonging to Rotary.
Attend
Attending is not just about occupying a seat at meetings; it is about being present. It means listening, learning, sharing, and strengthening the bonds that unite us as a club. Each meeting is an opportunity for personal and collective growth. When we are absent, we don’t just miss the experience, we also deprive the club of our energy and talent. Attendance is the heartbeat of Rotary.
Participate
Rotary is not a club of spectators; it is a movement of action. To participate is to get involved in projects, to raise your hand when support is needed, to offer your skills to make things happen. In every activity, no matter how small, we plant seeds of change. True Rotary satisfaction comes when we participate actively and see the fruits of our service reflected in the smiles of the community.
Pay
Our membership also implies a financial commitment. Paying is not a burden; it is an investment. It is the foundation that allows the club to plan projects, train leaders, sustain programs, and keep our organization alive. When we fulfill our obligations, we strengthen the trust in our club’s sustainability and ensure that Rotary continues to be a force for good in the world.
Dear members, APP is not a checklist of obligations—it is a reminder that our membership requires presence, action, and commitment. Being a Rotarian is not an honorary title: it is a way of living with purpose.
I invite you, this month and always, to renew together our promise to Attend with enthusiasm, Participate with dedication, and Pay with responsibility. Let each of us be an example, because when we fulfill APP, our club grows stronger and our community receives the very best of us.
Let us continue to be Rotarians of heart, of action, and of commitment.
