Carta de Domingo – El Rol de los Rotarios en el Avance de Proyectos: Integridad y Transparencia para un Impacto Duradero
En el mundo de Rotary, cada uno de nosotros tiene un papel crucial en el avance de proyectos que tienen el potencial de transformar nuestras comunidades y mejorar la calidad de vida de muchas personas. Como rotarios, nos guiamos por valores fundamentales que incluyen la ética, la integridad, y la dedicación al servicio. Estos valores, junto con la Prueba Cuádruple, son la brújula que orienta nuestras acciones y decisiones.
La Prueba Cuádruple nos invita a reflexionar sobre lo que pensamos, decimos y hacemos, preguntándonos:
¿Es la verdad?
¿Es equitativo para todos los interesados?
¿Creará buena voluntad y mejores amistades?
¿Será beneficioso para todos los interesados?
Estas preguntas son fundamentales para asegurar que nuestras acciones estén alineadas con los principios rotarios y que trabajemos siempre en beneficio de nuestras comunidades.
El papel de los rotarios en permitir el avance de proyectos es esencial. Cada proyecto que emprendemos requiere compromiso, transparencia y colaboración. Debemos trabajar juntos, compartiendo ideas y recursos, y apoyando a nuestros líderes en todos los niveles: club, distrito y zona. Al empoderar a los nuevos funcionarios, les permitimos aportar nuevas perspectivas y energías renovadas que son vitales para la innovación y el crecimiento de nuestra organización.
Sin embargo, es importante recordar que acciones de mala fe, motivadas por intereses personales o falta de ética, pueden tener consecuencias devastadoras. Cuando no seguimos los valores de Rotary y la Prueba Cuádruple, corremos el riesgo de dañar la confianza que nuestras comunidades han depositado en nosotros. Las acciones inapropiadas pueden descarrilar proyectos, desperdiciar recursos y afectar negativamente a muchas personas que dependen de nuestros esfuerzos.
Para prevenir esto, debemos fomentar un ambiente de transparencia y responsabilidad. Es fundamental que cada rotario se sienta responsable de actuar con integridad y de reportar cualquier conducta que no esté en línea con nuestros valores. Además, debemos dejar de ser obstáculos y permitir que los nuevos funcionarios lleven a cabo su trabajo con independencia y confianza. Al hacerlo, no solo fortalecemos a Rotary, sino que también aseguramos que nuestros proyectos tengan un impacto positivo y duradero.
En conclusión, el papel de los rotarios en el avance de proyectos es vital y se basa en la adherencia a nuestros valores fundamentales y la Prueba Cuádruple. Debemos trabajar juntos con integridad, apoyar a nuestros líderes y fomentar un ambiente de transparencia y responsabilidad. Solo así podremos cumplir nuestra misión de servir a nuestras comunidades de manera efectiva y sostenible.

Sunday Letter – The Role of Rotarians in Advancing Projects: Integrity and Transparency for Lasting Impact
In the world of Rotary, each of us plays a crucial role in advancing projects that have the potential to transform our communities and improve the quality of life for many people. As Rotarians, we are guided by fundamental values that include ethics, integrity, and dedication to service. These values, along with the Four-Way Test, are the compass that directs our actions and decisions.
The Four-Way Test invites us to reflect on what we think, say, and do by asking:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
These questions are essential to ensure that our actions align with Rotary principles and that we always work for the benefit of our communities.
The role of Rotarians in advancing projects is essential. Each project we undertake requires commitment, transparency, and collaboration. We must work together, sharing ideas and resources, and supporting our leaders at all levels: club, district, and zone. By empowering new officers, we allow them to bring new perspectives and renewed energy, which are vital for innovation and growth in our organization.
However, it is important to remember that actions taken in bad faith, motivated by personal interests or lack of ethics, can have devastating consequences. When we do not follow Rotary values and the Four-Way Test, we risk damaging the trust that our communities have placed in us. Inappropriate actions can derail projects, waste resources, and negatively affect many people who depend on our efforts.

It is essential that every Rotarian feels responsible for acting with integrity and reporting any conduct that is not in line with our values. Additionally, we must stop being obstacles and allow new officers to carry out their work with independence and confidence. By doing so, we not only strengthen Rotary but also ensure that our projects have a positive and lasting impact.
In conclusion, the role of Rotarians in advancing projects is vital and is based on adherence to our core values and the Four-Way Test. We must work together with integrity, support our leaders, and foster an environment of transparency and accountability. Only then can we fulfill our mission to serve our communities effectively and sustainably.
